It says, “Fill me with BEEEER!!!”

Counting down the minutes until I’m out of here! But I have a dilemma for the weekend. I don’t know what beer I should brew. I’ve got the hops, grains, yeast, and everything else I need to do myriad different styles. But I’m looking for a little inspiration. I’m only going to do a 5 gallon test batch, mostly because I just got a new conical fermenter I want to test out. But also because I imagine that I’ll be feeling quasi-lazy and don’t want to do 20-40 gallons.

My current front-runners: Pineapple & Habanero Gose, Peanut Butter Stout, Vanilla Baltic Porter, NE-IPA, Double IPA (I’ll need to pick up more hops for this one), or something else entirely.

Any beerheads on Oppo want to offer any suggestions? If it doesn’t suck, I’ll name it after this place. And of course, any northern California folks are welcome to come sample the finished product.

And because I forgot to include any car related stuff, here, have a Morgan GT3 racer.

Super jelly of that conical fermenter. And having the free time necessary to brew.

I would brew a hoppy red ale finishing just in time to enjoy for St. Patties day. Maybe some funked up yeast because that’s how I roll.

Yeah, the recipe I drafted up calls for a full pound of powdered peanut butter (PB2) and 8 oz. of whole bean coffee. Beans are practically a given in any stout I brew.

I actually do have a packet of Wyeast Roselare Ale. Unfortunately, it’s such a complex blend, that it is best suited to beers that will age for 12-18 months. I just don’t have that kind of patience. Sitting on my scotch barrel aged imperial stout for 3 months nearly gave me anxiety. I’m afraid I’ll probably never let the Roselare yeast find a home.

I think I also have a Danish Lager yeast pack that would really let my hops stand out in a Red IPL. And it would be fully conditioned and ready to consume before March 17th. Good thinking!

NE haze IPA! I have 10 gallons to brew this weekend of a Pale ale using hops a friend grew... I say go with the IPA because I don’t really like adjuncts.

Nice fermentor! Where you at in Nor Cal ? Always looking for more home brewers to hang with. I’m up at Lake Tahoe....in Incline, technically Northern NV but it’s close enough.....in this case at least.

I’m in Sacramento, but I make it up to Tahoe about a half-dozen times per year.

I haven’t actually brewed a NEIPA yet, which is weird, because I love to drink them.

Wow: I was NOT ready for the wave of covetous lust that coursed through me when that picture loaded. Something about separate bulbous fenders and running boards that spikes endorphin production.
